LIVONIA (WWJ) - Divers and police remain on the scene this hour at Livonia's Hines Park as part of an investigation.
The Oakland County Sheriff's Office confirmed to WWJ Newsradio 950 that the sheriff's dive team was searching the water at the park on Thursday, in cooperation with the Troy Police Department.
According to the FBI, divers and other investigators are looking for a gun used in a series of fast food restaurant robberies. The suspect was arrested Wednesday, authorities say, and has allegedly confessed to the robberies.
The FBI says the suspect told detectives he threw the gun used in a lake, which set off a search.
Tipsters driving along Hines Dr. near the Redford Twp. border have been calling WWJ to report seeing a large police presence, along with other emergency vehicles.
Hines Dr. is closed at Inkster Rd. as a result of the investigation.
