DETROIT (WWJ) - Two people have been killed in a two-vehicle crash on Detroit's northwest side.
According to police, at around 7:50 a.m. Monday, a driver disregarded a red light at Greenfield and Grand River Ave,. and t-boned a Nissan Sentra with two women inside.
"As a result of the incident, both individuals were transported by medics to nearby hospital where they were pronounced dead on arrival," said Detroit Police Publicist Bryan Warrick.
The victims have been identified as a woman in her 30s and a woman in her 50s, but their names and hometowns have not been released.
The driver allegedly fault for the crash, a 33-year-old man, had three kids with him in the car, police said. All four were taken to a hospital to be checked out.
The intersection of Grand River at Greenfield remains closed to traffic as an investigation continues at the scene.
