(WWJ) A family dispute lead to a barricaded gunman situation in Lake Orion.
Police say a man, 52, was drinking and had a loaded gun when the "verbal" argument broke out at a home on Hauxwell Drive, near Flint Street and Washington Street around 11:30 am Saturday.
Lake Orion Police and Oakland County Sheriff's deputies evacuated the suspect's home; and all the houses in the immediate area as a safety precaution, according to the press release. The Oakland County Sheriff's SWAT Team was also called in for backup.
Officers kept talking to the suspect throughout the altercation.
"Together, we resolved this incident in the safest way possible," Harold Rossman, Lake Orion Police Chief, wrote in the release. "No overt threat was made to family, neighbors or police."
Investigators tell WWJ the barricaded gunman eventually left the house on his own. Orion Fire and Rescue took him to a nearby hospital for treatment. No one was hurt.
