Detroit Police Searching For 3 Suspects, White Ford Explorer In Young Man's Slaying

(WWJ) Can anyone identify these wanted men?

Detroit Police are asking for the public's help to ID and locate three suspects wanted in a fatal shooting last week on the city's west side.


On Monday, July 6, at around 1:30 a.m.‬, four young men were in a vehicle, headed westbound on Warren Ave. when their car was hit by a white Ford Explorer. 

The driver of the Explorer then drove ahead and pulled to the side of the road, police said,.Three armed suspects got out, approached the victims' vehicle and fired multiple shots, striking a 19-year-old man and a 20-year-old man.

The suspects then got back into their SUV and fled.

The victims were taken by EMS to a hospital where the 19-year-old died, police said. The 20-year-old was last listed in temporary serious condition, police said. 

Their names were not released. The other two people in the car were not injured. 

The suspects are described as follows:

  • Suspect 1: A Black male with dark complexion and short hair. He was wearing a gray Nike shirt with black pants and light colored Nike shoes.
  • Suspect 2: A Black male with a light complexion, with a possible tattoo on his left arm. He was wearing a black Nike shirt with red pants and dark colored shoes.
  • Suspect 3: A Black male with short hair and facial hair. He was wearing a white Nike shirt and blue shorts.

The suspects vehicle is described as a 2002-2004 White Ford Explorer, with a rust stain on top of the roof.

Police released surveillance photos of all three suspects and the vehicle on Wednesday.
