AUBURN HILLS (WWJ) - A state lawmaker has been arrested for driving under the influence.

State Representative Rebekah Warren, a Democrat from Ann Arbor, was caught driving erratically along I-75 near Baldwin Road in Auburn Hills late Thursday night.

According to reports, Warren was weaving through traffic and struck a guardrail with her Jeep before she was stopped by police.

Warren, 48, reportedly failed field sobriety tests and refused to take a breathalyzer test.

She was taken into custody at the scene and booked at the Oakland County Jail early Friday morning.

The incident remains under investigation. Charges are pending.

In a statement Friday, Warren said she made a stupid mistake after drinking at a gathering in Detroit and then driving. She said she appreciates the officer who stopped her and the professionalism and dignity by everyone at the Oakland County Sheriff's Department. Warren said she will cooperate fully and will do everything to guarantee this never happens again.
