DETROIT (WWJ) - TV Judge Greg Mathis is not expected not face charges over an alleged incident in downtown Detroit.
Entertainment website TMZ is reporting that police investigators were unable to get in contact with a valet attendant who claimed that Mathis spit on him during a visit to the city last month.
The attendant had alleged that Mathis became upset on Aug. 23 when it took too long to get his Rolls Royce back from Flood's Bar and Grille. WWJ Newsradio 950 was able to confirm that a police report was originally filed, and that police were looking into it.
Mathis, a Detroit native who stars in the syndicated courtroom reality show "Judge Mathis," has vehemently denied the allegations.
"There was no spitting. There were six witnesses there, if they want to ask them. I was standing there outside of the place with the owner's son," Mathis said in a video interview posted by TMZ.
He did acknowledge there was a verbal altercation, as he asked the driver why he took his keys for 40 minutes.
