(WWJ) There's a big data breach involving patients who were treated at Corewell Health facilities.
The breach was at one of Corewell's vendors, Pinnacle Holdings, in November 2024, official said Friday.
According to Corewell, a review of data shows information from approximately 19,000 patients could have been compromised.
Some of the data the may have been accessed includes names, addresses, phone and social security numbers, birthdays, driver's license numbers, prescription information and medical diagnosis.
Pinnacle Holdings said: "We have taken steps to address the incident and are committed to protecting the information entrusted to us. Upon learning of this incident, we immediately began an investigation and reported the incident to law enforcement. We also implemented additional safeguards to further enhance the security of information in our possession and to help prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. Further, we undertook a thorough review of the information to identify the potentially affected individuals."
Pinnacle is offering free credit monitoring and identity protection services to affected people.
