SHELBY TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - Three people were taken into custody after shots rang out at an apartment complex in Shelby Township.
The incident unfolded around 10 p.m. Monday when officers received a report about gunshots in the area of the Crystal Lake Apartment complex, off Dequindre and 23 Mile roads.
When officers arrived at the scene, they heard numerous gunshots coming from a second floor apartment in building B. At that point, officers secured the area and SWAT Team members from the Sterling Heights and Warren police departments were called to the scene for assistance.
Crisis negotiators were able to convince three men to exit the apartment. All three suspects were safely taken into custody, and a rifle was located in the apartment.
No injuries were reported.
The incident remains under investigation.
