(WWJ) Eastpointe police say a man suspected in a fatal drive-by shooting has been found dead in Detroit.

According to investigators, a 24-year-old Clinton Township man was shot and killed outside a home on Linwood St, near Ave. Gratiot and Toepfer after a "domestic violence incident" Monday night.

The suspect, identified by police 24-year old Latrez Hobson, left before police arrived on the scene, but then returned and argued with the residents, police said.

By the time officers responded to the home a second time, Hobson had already left once again.

Police said Hobson returned to the scene a third time,  and allegedly fired several shots from an SUV at people who were standing outside the house. That's when the Clinton Township man was killed.

His name hasn't been released.

As the investigation continues, police are not saying exactly where Hobson's body was found, or how it is believed he died. Eastpointe detectives are working with Detroit Police to determine the circumstances surrounding this death.

The SUV that police say Hobson was driving at the time of the shooting hasn't been located. It's a black 2010 Jeep Patriot, with Michigan license plate CBY488.

The Eastpointe PD noted there was no motorcycle or motorcyclist involved in this incident, as was erroneously reported by some media outlets.

Police are asking anyone with information about this case to call the Eastpointe Detective Bureau at 586-445-5100 Ext. 1025.
