(WWJ) A teenager was injured in a hail of gunfire while playing basketball in Detroit.  

Detroit Police said the boy, 16, was playing the sport with a group of friends in the area of Smart Street and McDonald around 9 p.m. Friday.


Investigators told WWJ an unknown suspect pulled up in a black Chrysler 300 and parked.

He fired multiple shots at the basketball players before running away, police said.

The teen is hospitalized in temporary serious condition. No arrests have been made.
