LIVONIA (WWJ) - Police are looking for two masked suspects who robbed a 7-Eleven in Livonia and beat the clerk with a gun in the middle of the night.
The incident happened around 1:08 a.m. Wednesday at the 7-Eleven on 7 Mile and Inkster roads.
Two masked suspects barged into the store and one, armed with a shotgun, jumped over the counter and ordered the clerk to open both cash registers. As the second suspect was emptying the registers, which police say contained very little cash, the armed suspect struck the clerk several times with the shotgun. The second suspect grabbed a few boxes of Backwoods Cigars before both suspects fled the scene.
The clerk suffered minor lacerations and contusions to the head from the attack and was treated at the scene.
The first suspect is described as a black male, 5'9" to 5'11" and 190 to 210 lbs. with a medium build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with white marks on the hood, black sweatpants, gray and white shoes, and a red ski mask, and was armed with a short-barreled shotgun.
The second suspect is described as a black male, 5'8" to 5'9" tall and 180 to 200 lbs. with a medium build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, black and white shoes, and a blue mask, and was carrying a red bag.
In addition to recognizing the suspects, police are hoping someone from the public may be able to identify the manufacturer of the black hoodie with white marks that the first suspect is wearing.
