DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are calling on the public for help as they investigate a young man's murder.

On Wednesday, April 8 at around 9:50  p.m., a 20-year-old man was walking in the area of E. Warren and Drexel on the city's east side, when he was fatally shot by an unknown suspect.

The shooter remained at large as of Tuesday, and police say it is believed that a person of interest in the area at the time of the shooting may be able to provide information regarding this incident. Police released a pair of photos of that person to the media in hope that someone may recognize him.

Further details — including the victim's name and any possible motive for the killing — were not immediately released.

The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone who recognizes the man or who has any information about this crime is asked to call the Detroit Police Department's Homicide Unit at 313-596-2260 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at 1-800-Speak Up (1-800-773-2587).
