Troy Home Invasion Suspect Sneaking In Through Sliding Glass Doors

TROY (WWJ) - Police in Troy are warning residents to be on high alert following recent home invasions in the city. 

Police say two home invasions and one attempted home invasion occurred over the weekend in a neighborhood in the area of Long Lake and John R roads. 


In the 2000 block of Bridle Path, sometime between 2 p.m. Friday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, the suspect pried open a rear sliding glass door and entered the home. Approximately $5,000 in jewelry and other items were taken.

In the 2000 block of Mayflower, between 7:30 p.m. and 8: 30 p.m. Sunday, the suspect also pried the rear sliding glass door open and entered the home. Approximately $5,000 in jewelry and other items were taken.

In the 2100 block of Mayflower, around 10 p.m. Saturday, a homeowner caught the suspect on his back patio. When the resident turned on the porch light, the suspect took off running and the homeowner called 911. A K9 search was initiated but the suspect was not located.

Police distributed a photo of the suspect that was taken from a home surveillance system. Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has any other information is asked to contact police at 248-524-3477.
