WWJ -- A local music star has been named in an investigation stemming from a Labor Day weekend altercation at a Macomb County bar.
Matthew Shafer, whose stage name is Uncle Kracker, was named in a complaint over some type of altercation at Bumpers Landing Waterfront Sports Bar and Grill in Harrison Township, police confirmed to WWJ Monday evening.
Macomb County Sheriff Sgt. Renee Yax tells WWJ that they didn't receive the complaint until this last Sunday, around a week after the incident. Authorities did not disclose the exact nature of the altercation or how Shafer was involved. Police did not specify what day the incident took place and it was not clear whether anyone was injured.
The 45-year-old Shafer, born in Mt. Clemens, rose to fame as part of Kid Rock's Twisted Brown Trucker Band, but embarked on his own solo career in 2000.
No charges have been filed and an investigation is ongoing.
