ROSEVILLE (WWJ) - A 42-year-old Fraser woman is accused of driving drunk on a suspended license, hitting and injuring a motorcyclist.
Monique Johnson, who has two previous drunken driving convictions, was arraigned on multiple charges Thursday, in connection with the crash on Groesbeck, north of Hayes Rd. in Roseville on Wednesday.
According to Roseville police, Johnson was driving a Chrysler 300 northbound on Groesbeck when she turned into oncoming traffic in an attempt to pull into a parking lot. That's when she struck the Harley Davidson motorcycle, which was headed southbound on Groesbeck.
The motorcycle driver, identified as a 32-year-old Roseville resident, was taken to a local hospital were he was listed serious condition.
Johnson, who police said did not appear to be injured, was arrested at the scene.
She is charged with the following:
• Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) Causing Serious Injury, a 5-year felony • Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) - Third Offense, a 1 to 5-year felony• Operating – License Suspended, Revoked, Denied, Causing Serious Injury – a 5-year felony• Operating – License Suspended, Revoked, Denied, a 93-day misdemeanor
Bond for Johnson was set at $15,000 cash/surety or 10%, and a future court appearance was scheduled for Oct. 16.
The victim's name was not released.
