(WWJ) A Downriver woman is facing felony charges after it's alleged she caused a deadly crash in Allen Park.

The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office on Friday announced the case against 49-year-old Mia Michelle Allen, of Gibraltar.

According to investigators, Allen was speeding in her car on Southfield Road, Tuesday afternoon, and didn't slow down for a traffic coming up to a red light at Allen Road — crashing into a motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, a 65-year-old man, was found lying in the roadway unresponsive, authorities said. He was taken to a local hospital where he died of his injuries.

Along with speeding, it is alleged that Allen was intoxicated at the time of the crash, according to prosecutors.

Allen was arraigned in 24th District Court Thursday on charges of Reckless Driving Causing Death and Operating Under the Influence (OWI) Causing Death.

Bond was set at $150,000 cash and a probable cause conference in the case was scheduled for Aug. 31.

The name of the victim was not released.
