DETROIT (WWJ) -- A young girl is dead after a stolen SUV crashed on Detroit's east side late Saturday night.
Detroit police say the driver of a stolen 2002 Chevy Tahoe lost control and hit a tree along East McNichols Road near Gunston Street around 11:15 p.m. Authorities say a young female, between 15-20 years old, was ejected from the vehicle and killed. The victim has not been identified.
Police say several other young girls, also ages 15 to 20, were in the vehicle and were injured in the crash. Their identities have not been released either. The girls' conditions were not disclosed.
Police are still investigating the crash and have not released many details, including where the vehicle was stolen from or what caused the crash.
