(WWJ) Tori, the 3-year-old fluffy white Maltese knew not to get too close to the woods near her Novi home.
So her human didn't think twice about opening the door for the 5-pound pooch to go outside Saturday afternoon.
But within a couple of minutes, she heard sounds that broke her heart. Tori was being dragged away by two coyotes.
Debra Oppat couldn't do anything as they shook her lifeless dog and ran away into the woods behind her house.
"I can't even tell you how difficult it was to see my baby, but I couldn't get to her," Oppat told WDIV.
Oppat issued a heartbreaking warning after she witnessed her dog's horrific death, telling neighbors to be careful. She urged people to report coyote sightings to spur police reaction.
