(WWJ) Metro Detroit's largest juvenile detention center is the latest hotspot for the coronavirus.

Oakland County Children's Village, on N. Telegraph in Pontiac, is reporting nine confirmed cases of COVID-19 this morning.

Officials said the outbreak started after an employee tested positive on Sept. 3.

Since then, four more employees and four residents also tested positive.

"All nine of those people work in close contact with each other and were in one building," WWJ's Charlie Langton reported.

Everyone who tested positive is in quarantine, officials said. Langton added that another 17 people tied to the village have also been quarantined.

The village, which describes itself as a safe, structured environment for youth that includes secure detention, residential treatment and shelter care services, has 73 residents and 200 employees.
