GROSSE POINTE FARMS (WWJ) - Pier Park along Lake St. Clair has been reopened after a police investigation Saturday morning.
The park, on Lake Shore Road in Grosse Pointe Farms, was closed around 7 a.m. after a vehicle apparently went into the water.
According to reports, two vehicles were involved in a shooting and car chase that started in Detroit ended at the park. The park's entrance gate, along with a car bumper, was on the ground and a light pole was also knocked over.
An area near the community center was taped off and the park was closed for about six hours as crews removed the vehicle from the water. No one was inside the vehicle.
Police say there was no risk to the public.
It's unclear if anyone was injured.
