GROSSE ILE (WWJ) - Police say a 20-year-old man was ejected from his vehicle and seriously injured when he crashed while driving around Grosse Ile.
The crash happened just after 8 p.m. Tuesday along East River Road near Halcyon Court, south of Manchester Boulevard.
According to police, the man was driving at a high rate of speed when he lost control, crossed the center line and struck a tree. He was ejected from the vehicle and transported to a nearby hospital. His current condition is unknown.
The Downriver Crash Team responded to the scene, but it's not clear at this time if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
An investigation is ongoing.
