Police Investigate Suspicious Death Of 26-Year-Old Man In Dearborn

DEARBORN, Mich. (WWJ) -- An investigation is underway in Dearborn following what police are calling a suspicious death. 

Officers were called to a home on Appoline Street -- near I-96 and Meyers Road -- around 7 a.m. Monday. When they went inside the home, they discovered the body of a 26-year-old man and tried to administer aid, but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the scene by fire department personnel.

The cause of death is still unknown.

Police have identified the man as a resident of Marine City, but they have not released his name, as family notification is still pending.

"This loss of life is tragic and on behalf of the Dearborn Police Department, I extend my deepest condolences to the family and friends of the young man," Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad said in a statement.
