DETROIT (WWJ) -- Police are searching for a man wanted for the malicious destruction of property east of downtown Detroit earlier this month.
Police released video of an unknown male suspect walking up to a parked vehicle in the 1000 block of Rivard Street and throwing a liquid substance on the hood around 12:45 p.m. on July 23. It is not known what the substance was, but it caused the car's paint to peel.
Authorities believe the suspect may have damaged several other vehicles in the area, which is near the intersection of Rivard and Lafayette, east of I-375, near the Greektown neighborhood.
The suspect is described as a white male, believed to be in his 60s or 70s, with a slim build and silver hair. He was last seen wearing black jogging pants, a gray hooded sweatshirt and black flip flops.
Anyone who recognizes the suspect in the video, knows of his whereabouts or otherwise has information about the crime should contact the Detroit Police Department's 7th Precinct at 313-596-5740. Tips can also be made anonymously to Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
