(WWJ) Some residents are concerned about a group of ATV and dirt bike riders they've spotted flying down the streets of Detroit on several occasions this week.

They told WWJ's Charlie Langton "they're everywhere."

"Up and down Livernois, up and down Grand River. They're everywhere, every day. Any part of the city you can find them somewhere. They're out here," resident Cheryl Clark said.

Clark told Langton she saw 20 of them outside Livernois Grill recently, driving at a high rate of speed. She compares it to drag racing, which killed two people a few days ago when a woman pulling out of a pharmacy was struck and killed by a man who was allegedly drag racing. She and her 61-year-old passenger were killed; The other driver fled.

"If they were driving like they were supposed to, they wouldn't have been killed," she said.

Ricky Williams said he's even seen children riding them near Livernois.

They're racing and doing 'wheelies,' he said.

Williams argues there's nothing wrong with it as they're out there having fun, even though they're breaking the speed limit.

What's the problem? Charlie Langton asked. "It's dangerous," WWJ's legal analyst said, answering his own question.

Police issued a warning after a group of more than a dozen ATV and dirt bike riders was spotted weaving through traffic in Detroit during rush hour Tuesday. Police did not give citations and they will not give chase since Michigan State Police Trooper Mark Bessner used a Taser while chasing a teen riding on an ATV, and the teen, Damon Grimes, died.
