CASCO TWP. (WWJ) - A Northern Macomb County man was killed in what officials say was a single-vehicle crash overnight in St. Clair County.
St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon said deputies were called to the scene at around 1:30 a.m. Thursday, in the 9500 block of St. Clair Hwy. in Casco Township.
The preliminarily investigation found that a 29-year old driver from Richmond was heading westbound on the highway when lost control of his 1999 Dodge Ram pickup truck, veered off the roadway and hit two trees.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
It's unclear of icy conditions were a factor, or what else may have led to the crash, as an investigation by the Sheriff's Office Accident Investigation Unit continues.
The driver's name has not been released.
