Sheriff: Michigan Man Killed 2 Women, Planned To Kill More

DELTA TWP.  (WWJ) - A 27-year-old mid-Michigan man is in custody after authorities say he killed two women, and intended to kill as many as three more.

Police began searching for the man in the Lansing area about 2:40 a.m. Friday after his ex-girlfriend called 911 to report that he was violating a personal protection order by knocking on her door and sending disturbing text messages saying he "had been ridding the demons of some dear friends," but he loved and would spare her.

The woman did not let him in.

Ingham County Sheriff Scott Wriggelsworth said deputies tracked down and stopped the man a short time later in nearby Eaton County.

"And on the traffic stop he tells the deputies, 'Hey, I've got some images I wanna show you on my phone'," Wriggelsworth told WWJ's Dayna Clark. "And those images appeared to us to be two dead females."

Deputies conducted welfare checks and found the victims' bodies; one a 26-year-old woman in Holt, and then other a 32-year-old woman in Williamston. Both died from apparent blunt force trauma, the sheriff said.

Wriggelsworth said he believes the man was on a killing spree and his quick capture saved lives.

"An even more creepy part of the story is, after he was arrested and as we continued to investigate this, it appears to us that he at least three more victims on his mind to kill that night," said Wriggelsworth, "but Eaton County caught him before he could do that."

The suspect, who is from Chicago and now lives in Delta Township, remains behind bars awaiting an arraignment. His name will be released when he is formally charged.

The victims' names are also being witheld at this time.

An investigation is ongoing.
