HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. (WWJ) -- Highland Park police have issued a stranger danger alert after three men approached a young girl Wednesday.
Authorities say the men, driving a navy blue van, approached the girl near 25 Sears Street, west of Woodward Avenue.
The girl was taking out the garbage when the van drove up to her and asked if she needed a ride. The girl immediately notified her mother and police were called.
Police say later that day the van was again spotted near George Washington Carver Academy, which is near the area where the girl was approached.
Police did not release the girl's age or a description of the suspects.
Children are urged not to talk to any strangers that approach them and should tell adults about the incident.
