AUBURN HILLS (WWJ) - Police say tips from the public led to the arrest of a 49-year-old Romeo man who led them on a chase.
According to Auburn Hills Police, Victor Emmett Crosley was approached by officers on June 12 as he sat in a late model white Chevy S-10 pickup truck parked in a construction site after hours on Bald Mountain Rd.
Crosley allegedly fled, with police in pursuit onto northbound Bald Mountain Rd. toward Dutton Rd. until the chase was terminated, police said, "for safety concerns due to Mr. Crosley's driving," and he got away. No injuries were reported.
Investigators said they discovered license plate on the truck was stolen, and pictures and information about the suspect were shared on social media.
Less than 24 hours after the info went out, police said Crosley was identified, found in a parking lot of a Romeo motel, and taken into custody.
Crosley was arranged in 52/3 District Court Thursday on charges of Fleeing a Police Officer (a 5 year felony), Driving While License Suspended 2nd or subsequent offense (a 1 year misdemeanor) and Unlawful Use of a License Plate (a 90 day misdemeanor).
Bond was set at $10,000 cash, 10%, and a preliminary exam was scheduled for July 1.
