(WWJ) That's a lot of elk.
"Please take extra care not to stress wildlife this year by keeping your distance and respecting winter range closures in place to help them survive the season," ODFW wrote on its Facebook page.
The elk, one of the largest land mammals roaming North America, can also be found in Michigan.
According to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, the state's wild elk herd is flourishing, with over 1,000 elk living in an 105,000-acre area in the northeast Lower Peninsula. The most popular time to view them is in the fall.
