(WWJ) One person is dead and two others injured after a shoot-out at an upscale home in Chase Court, near 14 Mile and Drake, in West Bloomfield.
What caused multiple people to open fire at each other is still unknown, but the shooting was reported at 1 a.m. Wednesday. Police remained on the scene seven hours later, carrying out an investigation with search warrants.
A man who fled the scene and was later caught by police is considered a suspect in the crime. The suspect, a 47-year-old Detroit man, was discovered in a Dodge Charger near the scene. He had been shot in the stomach, and was transported to a local hospital.
The homeowner was shot multiple times, and a third subject was shot and killed at the scene. The deceased is from Warren.
"Police are still on the scene trying to make heads or tails of what happened," WWJ 950's Charlie Langton reported live at the scene.
Deputy Police Chief Curt Lawson said, "All three subjects that were involved in this incident were shot," adding the homeowner was shot multiple times and was transported to the hospital.
The shooting apparently happened in the garage or outside the home. Motive is unknown, as is whether the three men were acquainted, though Lawson told Langton there's no reason for the public to be concerned about random crime.
"This is a very upscale neighborhood," Langton reported.
