DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are investigating a fatal crash on the city's west side that ripped a car in half.
The crash happened around 5 p.m. Friday along 7 Mile road near Berg Road, east of Telegraph Road.
The 24-year-old victim apparently lost control of her vehicle, struck a utility pole and was ejected from the vehicle. The force of impact was so strong, the woman's vehicle was split in half during the crash.
The woman was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Other circumstances surrounding the crash weren't immediately clear, though witnesses told police the woman was traveling at a high rate of speed.
No other injuries were reported.
The crash remains under investigation.
