TROY (WWJ) -- The Oakland County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a "chaotic scene" outside the Fairfield Inn in Troy left one person dead and another injured.
It all unfolded in the parking lot of the hotel, on Stephenson Hwy. near I-75, Sunday night.
Investigators said some type of altercation in the parking lot led to a shooting, and then a crash near Rochester Road and South Boulevard.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while another suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The sheriff's office said three people connected to the incident have been identified, and investigators are working to determine if anyone else was involved.
No information was immediately released about the suspects, or about the person who died.
The OCSO added, in a statement: "At this stage of the investigation, there is no indication of any ongoing threat to the public. The matter remains an active investigation, and additional details will be released as they become available."
