DETROIT (WWJ) -- One person is dead and two are seriously injured after a crash on Gratiot Avenue in Detroit.
Police say the incident happened just before 1 p.m. Sunday on Gratiot near 8 Mile Road, just on the border of Detroit and Eastpointe.
Officers from both Detroit and Eastpointe responded to the scene until it was determined the crash occurred in the Detroit city limits.
Upon arriving on the scene, officers said they found two people who were ejected from a vehicle. A man was pronounced dead at the scene and two other people were transported to a local hospital. There is currently no word on their condition.
Gratiot was closed in the area for hours while the investigation was underway.
