1 dead in triple shooting at Mobile gas station in Detroit, police hunting for suspect

A shooting at a gas station in Detroit has wounded two people and killed one, authorities said Saturday.

DETROIT (WWJ) - A shooting at a gas station in Detroit has wounded two people and killed one, authorities said Saturday -- and now the search is on for the suspected gunman.

According to Detroit Police Public Information Officer Cpl. Dan Donakowski the triple shooting happened a Mobil Gas Station at 12800 West McNichols around 3:11 a.m on May 6.

Chief James White provided more information at a 4 p.m. update, stating gunfire struck three adult males. Two victims sustained non life-threatening injuries while the third was fatally wounded.

In the aftermath, the suspect fled the scene in a white Ford Expedition.

The victim's identities were not released.

Circumstances surrounding the incident, including a motive, remain unclear. Stills of the suspect and the suspect vehicle were captured from surveillance footage and released to the public in hopes of tracking him down.

The investigation remains active. If anyone recognizes this suspect, vehicle, or has any information about the shooting, has been asked to call the Detroit Police Department’s Homicide Unit at 313-596-2260.
