DEARBORN (WWJ) -- A man riding a moped along the Detroit-Dearborn border died on Wednesday after being hit by a school bus.
The 35-year-old was driving down Oakman Blvd around 3:00pm when he was broad-sided by a school bus on Tireman Ave. The man died at the scene.
According to Fox2Detroit, the incident was caught on home security cameras, which showed that the moped became wedged under the bus when the two vehicles collided.
Witnesses at the scene rushed to help the victim, including nursing student Zeinab Elhadi.
"I ran to him and checked his pulse," she told Fox2Detroit. "I called 911. They told me to begin compressions on him, so I tried CPR."
Resuscitation attempts continued once EMS and the fire department arrived, but it was too late.
No other injuries were reported, and the crash remains under investigation by Dearborn police.
