17-year-old dies in officer-involved shooting in Flint

FLINT (WWJ) An officer-involved shooting killed a 17-year-old boy in Flint.

Michigan State Police (MSP) Third District said Flint Post troopers were assigned to patrol in the area of Essex and Pasadena on Saturday, November 2nd, around 6:30 p.m.

“They had contact with an armed suspect who ran away from them when confronted,” State Police said in a statement on X. “The suspect, a 17-year-old...was shot and killed.”

Police recovered a loaded gun at the scene, MSP said.

Their 2nd District Special Investigation Unit and Crime Lab responded to the scene to investigate.

Per department policy, the troopers involved were placed on leave.

No further information was released. State Police said they'll post updates at a later date.
