DETROIT (WWJ) - One woman is dead and two drivers are hospitalized following an overnight crash where a Jeep rammed into another vehicle in Detroit early Friday morning, police say.
The Detroit Police Department said the crash occurred right around 1:45 a.m. on April 21 in the area of Greenfield and I-96 on the city's west side.
According to preliminary information, a woman driving a black Jeep Cherokee slammed into a white Dodge Caliber occupied by a male driver and a female passenger.
All three people were injured in the crash with the two drivers taken to a local hospital. They are both said by police to be in temporary serious condition.
The woman riding in the Dodge Caliber died of her injuries, authorities confirmed.
The fatal crash remains under investigation at this time. No further details, including the identities of the victims and the deceased, were released.
It is not currently known if speed, drugs or alcohol were factors in the fatal incident.
