MONROE (WWJ) -- Two men are behind bars in Monroe after it's alleged they beat up a 19-year-old man, sending him to the hospital, in an attack that was shared on social media.
Michigan State Police said the pair used an underage girl to help lure their victim to the scene of the attack on Saturday, in the area of Heatherwood Trail and Wildhaven Drive in Oakridge Estates in Monroe Twp.
According to investigators, the 19-year-old was assaulted by the two men as the girl recorded to assault on her phone, and posted the video to the social platform Snapchat.
The victim, police said, suffered injuries to his face, head and arms and was taken to Promedica Monroe Regional Hospital for treatment.
When police responded, and began searching for the attackers, they saw one of the suspects through an open window having sex with the juvenile girl.
Both men were taken into custody on expected charges of assault and battery and/or assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder. One of them will also be charged with criminal sexual conduct in connection with the assault on the underage girl.
On Monday, both men remained lodged in the Monroe County Jail awaiting an arraignment.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Trooper Anthony Nyberg of the MSP Monroe Post at 734-242-3500.
