(WWJ) Two motorcyclists are dead after two separate crashes in two days Oakland County.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office says a 43-year-old Rochester Hills man was killed Thursday when the driver of a Jeep Grand Cherokee turned in front of him just before 5 a.m., on Walton Boulevard near Grandville Court in Pontiac.

The motorcycle struck the Jeep in the passenger side door and then burst into flames. The motorcyclist was severely burned from the fire and ultimately died of his injuries at the scene, officials said.

No other injuries were reported.

The other crash happened Wednesday afternoon in Brandon Township.

Officials said a 53-year-old man from Lapeer County's Davison lost control of his motorcycle on Oakwood Road near Tonda Drive, and crashing head-on into an SUV. He was taken to a local hospital where he died on his injuries.

It's unclear what caused him to lose control of the bike.

Officials said a Holly man was driving the SUV with two young children on board. The man and one of the kids, a 3-year-old girl, suffered minor injuries. The other child, an 8-year-old girl, was not hurt.

No names are being released at this time, pending notification of the victims' families.

Both crashes remain under investigation.
