DETROIT (WWJ) - A man and a women were both hospitalized with injuries sustained when their vehicle was involved in a crash with a city bus on Detroit's west side this week, authorities confirmed.
According to the Detroit Police Department, the crash occurred around 8:45 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16, in the area of Grand River and West Warren.
Authorities said a Ford Fusion occupied by the couple crashed with a bus, but it wasn't immediately clear which driver was at fault.
The man and the women were transported to a local hospital with the man listed in critical condition and the women in temporary serious condition.
The DDOT bus driver was not hurt in the crash.
No other details were released by police pending an investigation.
Bus drivers in the City of Detroit averaged more than one collision every day last year, according to documents obtained by The Detroit News.
The report showed that DDOT drivers were involved in nearly 370 crashes in 2023, up from 129 collisions the year prior.
