'Wear your seatbelt;' two Inkster Police officers, driver of second car injured in crash
INKSTER (WWJ ) - Seatbelts are being credited with preventing major injuries in crash involving Inkster police car.
At 3 p.m. on Friday, a patrol car was involved in a crash on Norfolk Road near Beech Daly according to a tweet from the MSP Third District.
Two Inkster officers and the driver of a second vehicle are at a local hospital, where all of them are listed in stable condition.
Troopers and the MSP crash reconstruction team were on the scene, authorities said.
The on scene investigation found that the driver of the patrol car was driving over the speed limit on southbound Beech Daly. They hit a Toyota that was turning left onto Norfolk Street, according to a second tweet from the MSP Third District.
"Our reconstruction team will be conducting vehicle inspections and finishing up their investigation," F/Lt Mike Shaw said in a tweet. "We believe the use of seatbelts kept the injuries to all the occupants minor and serves as a reminder to all of us, wear your seatbelt."
Authorities said that impairment was not a factor.
