CHESTERFIELD TWP. (WWJ) -- Two men are in police custody after allegedly trying to solicit sex from minors in Chesterfield Township.
The first man was arrested on Saturday night, according to Chesterfield Township Police.
Police said an initial investigation showed that the suspect had been communicating with two other adults who were posing as a juvenile on a dating app. The suspect agreed to meet in person at a home "to engage in sexual acts," police said.
When he arrived, the two men posing as minors called police, and the suspect was arrested. These two men were civilians, and not working for or with the police department.
In the second case, Sunday night, another man was arrested at a Walmart store where he'd agreed to meet with the same two adults — who were again posing as a minor on a dating app — for sex. That man was also arrested upon arrival at Walmart, and is also awaiting charges.
Speaking to WWJ's Darrylin Horne, Sergeant Joe Feld said one of the suspects is 22 years old and they other is 36.
He could not released any further details about the case at this time, but he did offer this message to parents and children:
"To be mindful and, parents, make sure your monitoring your kids' usage on the internet of course," Feld said.
Both men remained lodged in the Macomb County Jail on Monday where they await charges. Their names are being withheld, pending their arraignments.
