CLARKSTON (WWJ) -- A 20-year-old man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for having illegal sexual intercourse with two underage girls.

Noah Koop, of Clarkston, claimed he did not realize the two girls were 13 and 15 years old at the time.

Noah Koop also claimed during his sentencing hearing over Zoom with the Oakland County Circuit Court that he isn't a sexual deviant.

During the hearing, Koop was ordered to spend 74 months, or 15 years, in prison for the two third-degree criminial sexual misconduct charges he plead guilty to last month.

The judge also denied the request for Koop to qualify for the Holmes Youthful Training Act status, which would have kept the conviction off of his permanent record.

Koop said he had a relationship with the 15-year-old girl and said the sexual activity with the 13-year-old girl was a case of "being in the wrong place at the wrong time."

He also was sentenced to two to four years for one count of child enticement for improper purposes.

Koop was arrested last spring in Farmington Hills and has since served nine months in jail.
