DETROIT (WWJ) -- Who killed Marcy Mullins?
Friends and family are pleading for help in answering that question, and finally finding justice, more than two years after their loved one was slain in a shooting in Detroit.
According to Crime Stoppers, the 50-year-old Mullins was murdered on Thursday, February 5, 2022, on Detroit’s northwest side.
Mullins was sitting in her car at a red light at Pembroke and Evergreen Rd., when someone pulled alongside her in another vehicle and opened fire.
It's unclear if this was a random shooting, or whether Mullins may have been targeted. And while Detroit Police have been investigating, there have been no arrests in this case, and no suspects have been named or described.
Crime Stoppers says the Osborn High School Class of 1989 is celebrating their 35 class reunion this weekend, and plan to hold a tribute Mullins, their classmate, hoping to draw attention to the unsolved case.
On Friday, Mullins' family and friends were scheduled to speak at a news conference outside the school, asking that anyone who knows anything that could help police to please come forward.
Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $2,500 for information that leads to the arrest of the drivers responsible for Mullins' death.
