SALEM TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - One man is dead after he was hit by a truck while riding his bicycle in Washtenaw County on Monday afternoon, authorities said.
According to the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office, a 25-year-old man was on his bike, traveling east on 8 Mile Road near Dixboro Road in Salem Township around 1:30 p.m. when he was struck by a truck.
Deputies said the driver, a 28-year-old man, was traveling in the same direction when the collision occurred.
The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, deputies added. The truck driver was questions and later released by police.
An investigation into the crash remains ongoing. No other details about the crash have been provided by authorities.
