BLOOMFIELD TWP. (WWJ) — Charges are expected to be filed against a group of men who allegedly stole nearly $3,000 worth of clothes from an Oakland County Dick’s Sporting Goods store.

Around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17, Bloomfield Township police got a call regarding a retail fraud in progress at the Dick’s store on Telegraph Road near Square Lake Road.

Callers told police that two men entered the store, grabbed several items of clothing and left without paying.

Responding officers were flagged down by several witnesses who said the suspects fled south on Telegraph in a black Nissan with heavy front-end damage.

Other officers in the area found the Nissan on Telegraph near Maple Road and pulled the car over. Three suspects inside the car had 55 articles of stolen clothing totaling $2,755, according to police. The stolen clothes were all recovered.

All three suspects were taken into custody for retail fraud and a report has been forwarded to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office. Authorities have not released the names or ages of the suspects, who all remained in custody Monday morning, pending review of charges and arraignment.
