33-year-old woman killed in stabbing in Waterford Township, fiancé in custody

WATERFORD (WWJ) A Waterford Township man was arrested for allegedly stabbing and killing his fiancé, police said.

Waterford Township Police said they responded to a home on Hackett, in the area of Pontiac Lake and Airport Road, on Friday, June 13 around 3:41 p.m. They arrived after a man, 25, called 911 and said he stabbed his fiancé.

Upon arrival, officers met the suspect as he exited the house and arrested him.

Police found a woman, 33, inside. Waterford Regional Fire also responded to render aid to the victim, along with officers. She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

Her name was not released.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office assisted with processing the scene after police obtained a search warrant.

The suspect was taken to Waterford Police Headquarters, booked and is currently lodged at the Oakland County Jail.

The circumstances leading to the stabbing remain under investigation.
