(WWJ) - Authorities said an argument over a cellphone sparked a non-fatal shooting that injured one and landed four others in jail on Wednesday morning.

Warren Police Commissioner Bill Dwyer told WWJ that three men and one woman were taken into police custody in the early morning hours on Feb. 1 at the Warren Woods apartment complex on Ryan and 10 1/2 Mile Roads.

The arrests came hours after a man was shot in the arm and leg, Dwyer said.

The victim was taken to a local hospital and is expected to recover. Dwyer added that the incident escalated after an argument regarding a cell phone.

Earlier reports stated that the suspects were attempting to rob the victim and the alleged shooter barricaded themselves at the apartment complex, but those reports remain unconfirmed by police.

The commissioner said the four suspects are expected to be charged with assault with intent to murder.
