BELLEVILLE (WWJ) -- Four men are facing felony charges after allegedly forcing their way into a Belleville home, assaulting a resident, and stealing handguns.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced charges against Detroit residents Anthony Carlo Marquez, 39, Einer Eloy Altamirano Barbosa, 24, and Gilbert David Machado Gonzalez, 20, along with Jesus D. Blanco Amador, 34, of Cornelia, Georgia.
According to authorities, this happened last Thursday, August 27, just before 10:30 p.m., at a home in the 44200 block of Wear Road in Belleville.
Prosecutors allege that the four defendants forced entry into the garage of a residence occupied by a 42-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman.
Once inside, the suspects allegedly restrained the 42-year-old male victim using handcuffs and physically assaulted him. The men then robbed the residence, stealing several handguns before fleeing the scene.
An investigation by the Sumpter Township Police Department, assisted by the Michigan State Police, led to the arrest of all four suspects a short time later.
Marquez, Barbosa, Gonzalez, and Amador each face nine felony counts:
- Armed Robbery (1 count)
- First-Degree Home Invasion (1 count)
- Felonious Assault (1 count)
- Unlawful Imprisonment (2 counts)
- Felony Firearm - Pneumatic Gun (4 counts)
All four defendants were scheduled to be arraigned on the afternoon of August 31, in 34th District Court.
Additional details and evidence are expected to be presented during upcoming preliminary exam.
