WARREN (WWJ) -- Four people have been arraigned in connection to a shooting at a home in Warren Tuesday morning.
Warren Police officers were called to the 13000 block of Champaign Street for shots fired around 9:50 a.m. Tuesday. Witnesses reportedly told police that two people “used an accelerant” to set the house on fire before firing multiple shots into the home. They then left the area in an SUV.
The fire was quickly extinguished and no injuries were reported.
According to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office, investigators identified 18-year-olds Keith Melidis, of Warren, and Kenneth Blevins, of Roseville, as possible suspects.
Officers went to a home in Roseville and saw the SUV. The suspects were reportedly seen entering a second car, driven by 19-year-old Elijah Ingram, of Warren, while officers were watching the home.
A traffic stop was attempted near 11 Mile and Schoenherr. Authorities said Ingram “fled the scene, nearly striking officers.”
The chase ended near Groesbeck and Industrial Street. Melidis, Ingram and a second passenger, 19-year-old Bellamaria Sorge, of Warren, were all arrested. Blevins was taken into custody when the Warren Police Special Response Team executed search warrants at the Roseville home and a second residence in Warren.
The Prosecutor’s Office said key evidence was also located during the search warrants.
A fifth suspect, identified as a minor, was also arrested for his alleged role.
The investigation reportedly indicated that the incident stemmed from an “ongoing feud over a dating relationship with Sorge,” according to the Prosecutor’s Office.
Charges were filed by the Prosecutor’s Office on Thursday. They said they would determine if the minor would be charged as an adult.
Ingram has been charged with accessory after the fact, a 5-year felony, felony firearm, a 2-year felony, carrying a concealed weapon, a 5-year felony and fleeing and eluding third degree, a 5-year felony.
Melidis, Blevins and Sorge were all charged with assault with intent to murder, a life felony, two counts of felony firearm, a 2-year felony, second degree arson, a 20-year felony, explosives – placing near property causing damage, a 20-year felony, discharging a firearm at a building, a 10-year felony and carrying a concealed weapon, a 5-year felony.
Guilty pleas were entered for all the suspects during their arraignment at the 37th District Court.
Ingram and Blevins’ both received a bond of $150,000 cash/surety only. Melidis’ bond was set at $250,000 cash/surety only and Sorge’s bond is $50,000 cash/surety only.
